However, one user wrote the following warning about using EasyBib.  "If you use the "Website" option and enter a URL, EasyBib will never give a correct entry for an article in an online newspaper or magazine, and it will only give a correct entry for another webpage if whoever published the website coded it correctly, using the work's actual title as the HTML title (and that doesn't even get into other details, like the publication date). In short, though I know it's tempting to do the easy thing and just plug in the web address, it's just not gonna work, and you're better off just doing it by hand."

Great app, but be careful when recommending its' use to your students.

The script, Doctopus, for Google Apps is a huge time saver for teachers. Before Doctopus, teachers were stuck creating a template and sharing the file with the class. The students would then have to create a copy and share the file back. These steps were not only tedious, but often created mixups along the way.

Doctopus allows teachers to create a temple and share it using the script inside of a spreadsheet containing their roster. The script will then create new fields in the spreadsheet that allow for grading, comments, and even a direct link to the shared file (the huge time saver). The script is a bit difficult to explain, so just watch the tutorial below:

Flubaroo is a neat Google Drive script that allows teachers to create a basic quiz using Google Forms and then have it graded for them. It even allows the teacher to email the grades as well as add comments to the student.

This is a great tool for creating very simple assessments. I’ve used it on occasion, but this is not even in my bag of tricks for online testing (blog post to follow). The simplicity of the script is nice but if you are looking for serious online assessment options, watch for my future blog post.
