Our HistoryHow We Got Started
The origins of AppsEducator trace back to 2008 when Kurt Allen began researching ways to automate repetitive tasks (such as grading exams or quizzes), and presented solutions during a faculty meeting to colleagues. Kurt later began working on initiatives to allow students the ability to access course information from any device 24-7, which has now become a standard practice for all educators around the globe. After several years of informally teaching faculty and staff how to utilize technology in the classroom, Kurt worked as a Technology Staff Developer providing Professional Development opportunities to train teachers, administrators, and support staff in effective technology integration. Today, Kurt is continuing in the field of educational technology as the lead Consultant & PD Instructor for AppsEducator, and as the lead administrator for charitable groups accepting donations of computer equipment for students in need.
