Course Description:
This educational game is the perfect course for aspiring coders. CodeMonkey is an educational online game environment where students learn to code in a real programming language called CoffeeScript (a simplified version of JavaScript). In the game, users control a monkey and help him catch bananas by writing lines of code. Different from Scratch, CodeMonkey uses text-based commands to enhance students computational thinking skills versus the simple drag-n-drop block-style coding found in other programs (Scratch, Tynker, Code.org, etc.). Students in the CodeMonkey camps will be able to continue using their CodeMonkey student accounts for the entire summer.

This kids summer programming classes is recommended for beginner to advanced learners grades 6-8. We recommend that students have a basic understanding/experience with block-style coding or robotics, however no previous coding experience is necessary.
